Call for papers comes to a closure!

20 feb. 2015

Friends, only a tiny bit of time has left until the call for papers at PG Day'15 Russia comes to a closure! On the 1st of March we will begin preparing the final program. However, even now it is obvious that it'll include technical talks of the highest quality.

Whether your employ PostgreSQL to handle extreme volumes of traffic, solve complicate issues or just take pleasure investigating its internals, do share your experiences with colleagues, it would be invaluable for the community. Exchange of knowledge will help you and other members solve non-trivial problems which would otherwise leave everyone clueless.

Based on the previous submissions, we would like to present a couple of topics, exploration of which would result in a very high chance (although, not a guaranteed one!) for you to be accepted into the conference's program:

  • PostgreSQL and Data Science. Do you crunch big chunks of analytical data using PostgreSQL? Employ pl/R to develop complex OLAP solutions? Tell us about it!
  • Benchmarks and comparative tests. Developers and operations' experts alike adore graphs and numbers. Show 'em at PG Day'15 and become that kind of speaker who gets the most questions from the audience. Don't have any data to share? Long weekends are ahead, plenty of time to draw!
  • You would really like to develop PostgreSQL but have no clue on how to begin? Make a statement about it, show the issues you've had to overcome in order to take part in the development. We are sure that a good half of the audience experiences the same difficulties, and the core team members, whom we've invited to the conference, will draw conclusions on what could be tuned in the process of enlisting new developers.
  • PostgreSQL any virtualization. Any half-decent DBA will tell you that you it would be stupid to virtualize a database, 'cause of the disks. Do you disagree? Tell us about it!

This is only a small handful of ideas. Send us your submissions and who knows, maybe your talk is just what's needed to persuade even the most nitpicking techhies to attend PG Day!

Yours,
program committee
